collaborative, connected, authentic

Recruitment is about people & relationships.  Finding the right "fit" for clients & candidates

based in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Hiring talent is too important to leave to chance.

With Talent Strategy, nothing is left to chance. Through honest conversations and assessing a candidate’s competencies and career aspirations a talent profile is designed. Recognizing that identifying talent is not just about technical competency and skills, but also about fit.
Getting it right through careful vetting and leveraging a vast relationship network to ensure the right match.

Talent Strategy’s approach is based on 3 principles:

Collaborative. By starting with a conversation, Talent Strategy consults with hiring managers and candidates to gain a solid understanding of their goals & priorities. Through this understanding,  recommendations are shared based on client & candidate goals and local job market trends.

Connected. With over 20 years of experience recruiting in the metro DC area, Talent Strategy has developed and fostered a vast network. This network is based on the question "How can we help?" we try to foster a feeling of community where both candidates and clients grow and succeed together.

Authentic. Being true to one's own personality, spirit and character is paramount at Talent Strategy. Our duty is to serve clients and candidates who choose to trust us with identifying new talent for their team or presenting them with career opportunities.

Clients appreciate the expertise gained as  Talent Management professionals including executive search, Internet recruiting, training, career transition services, and consulting on employee performance solutions. We will work tirelessly to collaborate with client organizations to build creative solutions and strategies that improve the development and retention of the organization's critical talent. 75% of placement is based on “fit” so matching a candidate’s profile with company culture is paramount to a successful placement.

Let’s start our conversation by sharing what is important to you! Help us to understand what your next career should look like. Once we have gained a thorough understanding of your career goals and skills, we will share opportunities that match your profile based on “fit”. Allow us to guide you through the recruiting process and provide feedback.  Talent Strategy looks forward to advising  on your career strategy.

There are a lot of recruiters who can match a candidate with a position in terms of the job requirements, but Maureen goes far beyond that. She has the special ability to understand the intangibles that will make a person happy and successful in a position.
— Director of Finance and Accounting with Global Consulting firm
Over the last 10 years since leaving the Big 4, I owe finding my last 2 jobs to the expertise of Maureen. In a sea of finance industry recruiters, Maureen is a stand out as someone who actually listens to your unique circumstances and career thoughts. She’s also not afraid to set you straight when you need it! She’s a one stop shop resume reviewer, listener, and coach who will find you the unique role you want.
— CPA, Manager of Financial Reporting
Many recruiters try to fill positions with a warm body, but Maureen has always offered candidates whom she has personally met and feels would be a good fit for the hiring manager and the candidate. Maureen goes beyond filling jobs - she reaches out with candidates proactively where she sees a potential mutual benefit.

Meet Maureen Pappas

Talent Strategy was founded because I truly love what I do! and powered by a passion to help others. For over 20 years, I have developed trustworthy relationships with candidates and hiring managers by gaining their respect for my industry knowledge, networking skills, dedication, and ability to execute strategic talent solutions. As a certified Career Coach, I have devoted countless hours advising individuals (entry level to C-suite) on how to create relevant resumes and an effective job search.

Giving back to the community is important to me. As the Community Chair for Human Resources Leadership Forum, I collaborate with workforce related nonprofits to introduce them to corporate opportunities.

When not recruiting, you will find me cooking, swimming, gardening, or enjoying life with my husband and English bulldogs.
